The Mote (1932-1940)
As well as the sources below, a seven and a half minute 1939 silent, black and white film by the amateur documentary film-maker and socialite Rosie Newman can be played on the Imperial War Museum website. It shows children, adults and animals at the Mote. It is one of the earliest, if not the earliest cinefilm of life in a therapeutic children's community:
