PART TWO: NOT ONLY MUSIC

I. PEOPLE

I could stop here, but there is more to be said. A casual reader of these notes, previously unaware of Caldecott, might suppose I was writing about a music school. A contemporary of mine at Caldecott with no musical inclinations might wonder if I attended a parallel Caldecott, headed by Miss Leila and Miss Dave but otherwise a different place. In this second section, I will set down my memories of the many other staff that played a major role during my ten years at Caldecott. Some of these people have already made a passing appearance in the musical story. I will try to avoid repetition.

There were also, of course, my many contemporaries, exact, older and younger. Here, any written memories have to be more constrained. I certainly have not forgotten them. A few were bullies, some were weird, one or two were budding delinquents, many more were extremely companionable.
