One important aspect of the Hurok paperwork, is that there are a number of venues that did not materialize, probably because of Diane Shumlin's negligence. I remember that the entire cast was upset at having to play the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles' Griffith Park, a huge open air amphitheater usually featuring rock groups. There were microphones at the foot of the stage and produced an entirely undesirable acoustical anomaly for the actor's voices, so I was informed. The L.A. Shubert Theatre was the original booking for the production, but it somehow became fouled up: the first of many foul ups.
