
CONSTITUTION.
1._The title shall be “The Caldecott Community.”
2._Objects:
The objects of the Caldecott Community shall be twofold:
(a). To form a centre for educational experiment, based upon non-collective teaching, for the children of the working classes.
(b). To be a self-contained institution touching the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of child life from infancy to adolescence by means of a Day School, Play Centre, Holiday School, Mothers Club, and other activities affecting their daily life.
3._Annual Meeting :
There shall be an Annual Genera! Meeting of the subscribers and supporters of the Community.
4._Election of Council:
The affairs of the Community shall be managed by a Council, Officers, and an Executive Committee.
The Council shall he elected by the subscribers at their Annual Meeting.
The Council shall consist of not more than 30 members, of whom one-third (taken in alphabetical order) shall retire annually.
The retiring members of Council shall be eligible for re-election.
The Council shall meet within 30 days after its election to elect the Executive Committee and consider schemes tor the following year.
The Chairman and Hon. Directors, acting together and unanimously, shall have power to co-opt members to fill vacancies on the Council, such co-opted members submitting themselves for election at the Annual General Meeting next following.
5._The Council shall have power to conduct any part of its business by means of committees.
6._Officers:
The Officers of the Council shall be the President, Vice-President, Chairman, together with the Hon. Treasurer, and two Hon. Directors. The President, the Vice-President, and the Hon. Treasurer shall he elected annually by ballot at the last meeting of the Council, before the annual meeting of subscribers.
The Chairman for the year shall be elected by the Council at its first meeting.
The Hon. Directors of the Caldecott Community shall (ex-officio) be members of the Council and of the Executive
